Journalist, Producer & Photographer

Emilia is a passionate storyteller and has experience in a number of creative fields, including journalism, photography, long-form narrative, video and radio production, fiction writing and more.

She is currently senior producer at School of Humans audio, leading a team of talented podcast producers. The SoH audio division boasts an incredible slate of intentional, sound-rich and sometimes downright cinematic podcasts — all distributed under a multi-year deal with iHeartMedia.

Before making the leap into the podcasting world, Emilia worked as senior producer for Georgia Public Broadcasting’s daily political panel discussion program, Political Rewind, and as supervising producer for GPB's On Second Thought. She has also worked as a producer on WABE’s Closer Look with Rose Scott.

Emilia has held a variety of creative and professional roles, ranging from arts and culture reporting to communications for Atlanta's Delta Air Lines. She was even, at one point, a street performer in Helsinki, Finland, writing stories and poems on demand.

She got her start in journalism early on, writing for her local newspaper, The Daily Breeze, before even graduating high school. Emilia went on to write a weekly column for that paper, recounting her experiences as a freshman at New York University. There, she double-majored in journalism and English & American literature, and minored in music, graduating cum laude. She completed a multimedia honors thesis titled "Don't Ever Fade Away," exploring how the Internet is affecting the culture of the music industry (2010).

Emilia is originally from Los Angeles and spent nearly a decade in New York, but is now happily based in Atlanta, Georgia.
